Pascale Braconnot is a CEA senior scientist at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE). She has a 18 year expertise in climate modelling. Her scientific activity ranges from couple ocean-atmosphere model development to the use of these coupled models in different climatic contexts. Her personal activity concerns the role of the ocean in climate change and variability with emphasize on past monsoon and interannual variability in the tropical regions. She coordinated the Institut Pierre Simon Laplace modelling group and LSCE modelling theme. She has also expertise in the coordination of several national and European projects and is leading the international Paleoclimate Modeling Intercomparison (PMIP). She participated to the last two IPCC reports as a lead author, in AR4 chapter 9 (understanding, detection and attribution) and AR5 chapter9 (Evaluation of climate models).
