SESSION 5, Bioroutes to CO2 conversion

Nature already knows how to convert CO2 into chemicals needed to sustain life. In particular, autotrophic algae use CO2 and sunlight to produce oils, fatty acids, lignocellulose etc…that can be converted into valuable chemicals and fuels.

The Forum’s session 5 will review several options for capturing and revalorize CO2 by addressing the potential of algae to harvest sunlight and photo synthetically process CO2 into chemicals and therefore contribute to keep CO2 out of the atmosphere.
